Frequently asked questions.

1. What does “fiduciary” mean in financial planning?

A fiduciary is legally and ethically obligated to act in your best interest. At Llewellyn Financial, we operate as fiduciaries 100% of the time — no commissions, no hidden incentives. Just transparent, advice-first planning focused on your goals.

2. What’s the difference between fee-only and fee-based advisors?

Fee-only advisors are compensated directly by clients — no commissions or product sales.
Fee-based advisors may charge fees and receive commissions. Llewellyn Financial is proudly fee-only, meaning our only loyalty is to you.

3. Do you have a minimum asset requirement to work together?

No. However, we are generally the best fit for clients that have $500k in investments or are are making $150k in household income. We believe everyone deserves objective advice, whether you're early in your career or preparing for retirement. We offer planning engagements that meet you where you are — not just where your portfolio is.

5. How does Llewellyn Financial get paid?

We operate on a flat fee or 1% AUM. This means no commissions, no product sales, and no surprises. Everything is explained upfront.

6. What can I expect from the free consultation?

We’ll meet for a relaxed 20-30-minute conversation — no sales pitch, just a chance to learn about your goals and whether we’re a good fit to help. You’ll walk away with clarity, even if we don’t move forward together.

7. Do you offer virtual or in-person meetings?

We offer both. Many clients prefer virtual meetings for flexibility, but if you're local to Charlotte, NC, we’re happy to meet in person.

8. How is Llewellyn Financial different from a large brokerage or national firm?

We're independent and locally focused. Unlike big firms tied to product sales or quotas, we work exclusively for our clients as a fee-only fiduciary. That means no conflicts of interest — just honest, strategic guidance tailored to your life and career.
